Before embarking on a journey, regardless of whether it is a trip by way of car, airplane, or boat, a Traveler's Prayer, or “tefilat haderech” (תפילת הדרך) in Hebrew, is recited. The origin of the Traveler’s Prayer is found in the Gemara, a part of the Talmud or oral law. This prayer is inserted into a professionally crafted mezuzah, small enough to fit in your car. May you travel safely
